KATHMANDU: At least 10 people died in a jeep accident in Jajarkot on Monday evening.
According to Chandra Bahadur Thapa, deputy mayor of Chhedegad Municipality, nine persons died on the spot while one succumbed to injuries while being taken to hospital for treatment. Two others are seriously injured, he added.
“The jeep fell 200 meters off the road at Bhirpati on the boundary of Wards 4 and 5 of Chhedagad Municipality,” Thapa added.
Seven of the deceased are from Jajarkot, while three are from Dailekh district. Both the injured are from Jajarkot, according to Thapa.
Twelve people, including the driver, were onboard the ill-fated jeep.
