KATHMANDU: Ten Nepali nationals died in Hamas attack in Israel on Saturday, the Nepali Embassy in Israel has confirmed.
Of the 17 that were out of contact since Saturday, the whereabouts of Bipin Joshi of Bhimdutta-3 of Kanchanpur is still uncertain, according to Nepali ambassador to Israel Kanta Rizal.
Likewise, four – Bidhan Sejwal of Salyan, Brapbin Dangi of Dang, Dhan Bahadur Chaudhary of Kilali, and Himanchal Kattel of Gorkha are receiving treatment in different hospitals, while Pramod KC of Salyan and Birendra Chaudhary of Kailali are with their employers and police, respectively.
They were living in Alumim settlement in the Sedot Negev region of Israel.
According to state-owned Nepal Television, these 17 students were a part of a 49-member group of Sudurpashchim University who were in Israel under ‘learn and earn’ program.
Earlier, Minister for Foreign Affairs NP Saud had said in the parliament that Nepali casualties are feared in the Hamas attack in the Alumim settlement in the Sedot Negev region of Israel.
